the other night i was watching fascal flatts christmas special which shares personal stories about foster care & adoption. i feel incredibly grateful to have been in foster care for the first 5 months of my life with a wonderful woman and be chosen by my lovely family. i am forever grateful & blessed that a few years ago, i was reunited with my biological siblings and their families have embraced me and loved me as if i am part of their families.

the other day, my foster mother faceybook messaged me saying she was trimming her tree and found my first ornament and was wondering if id like it. of course i said yes. all week i have been running to the mailbox waiting for it to arrive. today was that day. she said every year for the past 25 years, she would hang it on her tree because i was her last foster child.

the ornament, after 25 years, now hangs on my own christmas tree. i am so incredibly blessed to have been chosen to be adopted and fate brought me and my siblings and my foster family together.
