since i went to renfrew in 2011, i have had ridiculously high blood pressure. like no joke. when i was admitted IP i was not even a month out of surgery for my endometriosis and had an IUD put in. i was put on bp meds in philly & my vitals were taken 3x a day to make sure i didnt have a heart attack.
fast forward 17 months later and i am still having high bp. i am not responding to the medication that is prescribed and i have mentioned to my endometriosis specialist i think it is the mirena (as this device wreaks havoc on the body). along with high bp, i have hot flashes that are unbearable despite being on hormone replacement therapy. my specialist again says this should not be happening along with constant light bleeding. great. my body isnt work the way it should. and no one knows why.
so when i had my annual this week with my gyno i told her everything im experiencing and she thinks i might have something called pheochromocytoma. in english? my body possibly might be producing too much epinephrine and norepinephrine from my adrenal glands due to a tumor. symptoms include: high bp, excessive sweating, rapid heart beat, anxiety..etc. i have all of those.
so this weekend i have to do a 24 hour lab test. in that 24 hours i have to collect my urine and send it back to the lab. (yuck!). this will be the excitement of my weekend.
i of course, am hoping that i do not have a tumor but if i do, it will then explain my symptoms without me sounding like a complete hypochondriac...
I hope everything goes well. I will keep you in prayers. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you hun! I am hoping we can finally find some answers to why my body is acting the way it is.
